The raw material from which the plastics industry makes most plastics comes from the petroleum and natural gas produced by the oil industry and petroleum industry. Within the plastics industry are core sectors which comprise of material and additive manufacture, material processors and machinery manufacture. The plastics industry is a key supplier to other industries, in particular the construction industry, the automotive industry, the aerospace industry, the packaging industry, and the electronics industry. Plastics are also important to the transport industry and pharmaceutical industry. |
